Rural Activities:

11] Hand Pump Repairing Project:

In view of the scarcity of water, we intend to implement the project of making available the clean & sufficient drinking water which covers.

(a) Rain Water harvesting and
(b) Erecting / revival of Bore-wells.

Since the Rain Water harvesting project has already been under the way being carried out by various Govt. agencies and foreign-aided NGOs, we will concentrate on the second project where instead of erecting new Bore-wells, we will revive the existing Bore-wells which are lying un-utilized for inappropriate maintenance.

In this context, we successfully repaired 55 Nos. Hand pumps in 17 Villages of Gangapur Taluka, Dist. Aurangabad. GCC is planning to provide adequate training to the villagers for repairing the hand pump.

Total Beneficiaries:
Total number of beneficiaries in a year are, nearly 50000. In the last 16 years Garware Community Centre has conducted many programs jointly with other ‘Institutions/ Organizations’.

Sports Training, Gymnastics Training, were conducted regularly. We celebrate ‘SURYANAMASKAR SOHALA’ in the month of January/ February every year and almost in 90 school and nearly 15000 students are participated.

Personality Development Camps for adolescent girls are being conducted jointly conducted with “Bhartiya Samaj Seva Kendra.”
Judo and Karate Classes are being jointly conducted with “Maharashtra Sports Association & Huyan Chang Lees Marshal Art”.

State Level Yoga Competition is being jointly conducted with “Aurangabad Municipal Corporation and Aurangabad District Yoga Association.”

Garware Community Centre has been organizing Theatre & Film Acting Workshop for children in the age group of 13 years to 18 years. This is a joint project with “Shilpakar”, an NGO striving for child development. This Workshop is arranged in 3 phases. The first phase is of ten days residential training camp. The object is personality development through theatre activity.

Along with theatre and cinema the planning emphasizes on increasing awareness about various fields of knowledge like journalism, banking, health, social services, politics etc. So far, approximately 300 boys and girls have undergone the training. Eminent cine personalities like Hon. Rajdatta, Chandrakant Kulkarni were kind enough in imparting necessary training to these students.

From 1993 to 1999 the Company was solely sponsored and involved in these projects. Their support made it possible to smoothly run all the activities. The Garware Community Centre has truly emerged as a people’s organization. In 1999 GCC has registered under ‘Bombay Public Trust Act 1950’ as a Charitable Public Trust. Garware Community Centre is well known and the only centre in ‘Marathawada’; where every individual of a family receives so many facilities and opportunities for self –development under one roof.

Other Projects:


In order to facilitate the Aurangabadites to conduct the sports and cultural activities, Garware has aided Aurangabad Municipal Corporation for building and maintaining a stadium in MIDC Chikalthana area. Thus, a stadium known as “GARWARE STADIUM” has been built-up in the vicinity of MIDC Chikalthana and is being maintained by Aurangabad Municipal Corporation. The Aurangabadites are therefore now able to utilize the Stadium and conduct various sports activities like cricket, volleyball, badminton, football, yoga, karate, judo etc. at Garware Stadium. One such activity of Yoga Camp was organized at Garware Stadium wherein approximately 15,000 people have been benefited.


Aurangabad being a historic city of Tourism, Tourists mostly from Overseas visits this place especially to have a glimpse of world-famous caves of Ajanta & Ellora. To create an impressive look of Aurangabad at the Airport itself, the Garden at International Airport at Aurangabad has been innovated and maintained by Garware. This creates an exclusive atmosphere of welcoming the Tourists.

III] Incidental Activities:

The national calamity of earthquake which shook the entire country in 1992 due to which thousands of human life and property worth crores were lost at Killari [Latur] and in 2001 Bhuj [Gujarat]. The shattering flood situation at Paithan Dist. Aurangabad in 2006 was another calamity. Garware played an important role in helping the affected people of these calamities. Garware dispatched a team of volunteer along with food, clothing and utensils for the affected people of these areas which were of great help to the Society as a whole.
